- You can update your personal contact details online, including your address, telephone number, email and employment and volunteering details.
- If you have changed your name, you must visit a service centre and provide proof of identity.
- To record a change of gender, or if your criminal history has changed, you must email Consumer, Building and Occupational Services.

About updating personal details on registration to work with vulnerable people
You can change most of your personal contact details online. You will be sent an SMS or email verification code to access your registration details.
If you have changed your name and want to update your registration, you must visit a service centre.
If you want to update details of your gender or a change your criminal history, you must email RWVP@justice.tas.gov.au.

What you need to update
The information you need depends on the details you are changing.
Updating your personal contact details
When you log on to My Registration you must have:
- your registration number
- last name
- date of birth
- your phone or email address to receive a code.
To change your name you must visit a service centre and provide one of the following documents:
- Change of Name Registration issued by Births, Deaths and Marriages; Deed Poll or overseas issuing authority
- Marriage Certificate issued by Births, Deaths and Marriages (or interstate/overseas registry office equivalent) Note: church or celebrant issued certificates are not accepted
- Divorce papers issued by Court, indicating the name being reverted to
- Guardianship Order
- Relationship certificate
- Adoption papers issued by Court.
To change your criminal history
You must notify Consumer, Building and Occupational Services by emailing RWVP@justice.tas.gov.au within 10 working days of being charged, convicted of, or found guilty of a relevant offence.
You must also let them know if any of the details below have changed since you first applied:
- overseas offences
- family violence orders
- restraint orders/apprehended violence orders
- child protection orders (that you have been involved in).
If you are under 18 a parent or legal guardian must come with you. Your parent or legal guardian must:
- show identification (4 documents that show their given name and family name in full, date of birth and include their photograph)
- provide a link between the applicant and parent or legal guardian (which can be done with a birth certificate or guardianship documentation)
- consent to the terms and conditions.
Can I update?
Your registration to work with vulnerable people must be current.
Proving your identity
You do not need to prove your identity unless:
- you request a new photo to be taken (optional), or
- your most recent photo was taken more than 10 years ago
There are 2 ways to prove your identity for a photo to be taken:
1. Your registration to work with vulnerable people card
You can show your registration to work with vulnerable people card, even if it expired up to 2 years ago.
2. Provide a current photo identity document
If you're unable to provide the original document, a copy must be certified by a Commissioner for Declarations or a Justice of the Peace (JP).
Photo identity documents (show one of these)
- Australian passport
- Australian Government issued ImmiCard (with a photo)
- Current Australian driver licence, learner permit or provisional licence issued with a signature and photo and the same name as claimed
- Current overseas passport with a valid entry stamp or visa
- Current proof of age or photo identity card issued by an Australian Government agency in the name of the applicant, with a photo
- Current Australian Shooters or firearms licence showing a signature and photo (minor or junior permits or licences not accepted)
- A current student identification card with a signature or photo (for persons under 18 years of age with no other primary identification documents).
In addition to the above, if your name has changed you must provide one of the following documents:
- Change of Name Registration issued by Births, Deaths and Marriages; Deed Poll or overseas issuing authority
